ImageNation has focused their Outdoor Film Festival for this year on STEM, its importance in education and how youth are accessing and using it to learn, create and grow. On August 21st, you can join their Kids Night Out screening of “A Wrinkle in Time” Directed by Ava DuVernay and their Black Girl Magic closing night film “Love Beats Rymes. Directed by RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan and staring recording artist Azealia Banks, Jill Scott, and Common will be showing on September 7th.
During their showing of “A Wrinkle in Time” their tech village will be present. The idea of a Tech Village is an extension of the Wakanda Tech Village for the summer screening of “Black Panther” back in June. Wakanda being an advanced technological society and placing it in Harlem. Featured exhibitors included the Harlem Knights Robotics Team, LatinoTech, A-Frame – NYC & Immersive NYC (both are A-Frame classroom style meet-up groups that specialize in teaching A-Frame) and VR World NYC.
In addition to the tech village, they will also have face-painting, a back to school backpack giveaway by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and more.
